Short answer: only if you find one for under $200 and have zero expectations. The iPhone 11 came out in 2019. The A13 chip still handles daily stuff—scrolling social media, streaming video, casual games—without major stutter. But the LCD screen looks noticeably dull next to any OLED model, the bezels feel chunky, and it lacks 5G. More importantly, Apple will likely drop iOS support for it in 2026 or 2027. That means two years max of security updates and new features. Battery life on a used unit is a gamble; plan on a $70 replacement at a shop. The cameras hold up fine in good light, but night mode is basic compared to the 12 and later.
Who should buy it? Maybe a kid’s first phone, a work burner, or someone who truly hates OLED flicker. Everyone else, skip it. A refurbished iPhone 12 runs about $100 more, gets you an OLED display, MagSafe, 5G, and at least one extra year of iOS support. The iPhone SE 3 (same A15 as the 13) is often $200–$250 used and blows the 11 out of the water for speed and longevity. The 11’s only real edge is that it’s cheap right now on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace. Just don’t pay more than $180. and don’t expect it to feel modern. It’s a legacy device at this point, not a smart buy.
