Focal has launched the Bathys MG, a pair of premium wireless headphones that combine high-end materials with detailed sound performance. Weighing 350 grams, they are built for comfort with a leather headband and soft synthetic leather ear cushions.

The headphones feature 40mm magnesium drivers designed to deliver clear and accurate audio. They support Bluetooth 5.2 and aptX Adaptive, but do not include newer codecs like LDAC or aptX Lossless. A wired mode is available through the 3.5mm jack or USB-C connection, which also enables high-resolution DAC mode supporting up to 24-bit/192kHz audio.
Battery life reaches up to 30 hours over Bluetooth, 35 hours in analog mode, and 42 hours when used as a USB DAC. The headphones come with a hard case, two cables, and a companion app that offers a 5-band EQ, noise control settings, and a hearing test feature called “Mimi.”
Sound quality is a highlight—wide, detailed, and well-balanced across most frequencies. The Bathys MG captures subtle details in music exceptionally well, though some listeners may find the high frequencies slightly sharp.
Noise cancellation is available in three modes—Transparent, Soft, and Silent—but doesn’t match industry leaders like Bose in blocking outside noise completely.
The Focal Bathys MG is positioned as a luxury audio product with strong wired performance and elegant design, though its wireless specs aren’t the latest on the market.
