Apple fans looking beyond this fall should mark early 2026. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman expects a wave of new Apple devices around that time, including major computer upgrades and a new budget iPhone.
Top of the list is a new MacBook Pro powered by the M5 chip. Gurman suggests this could be the last Pro model using the current design. Updated MacBook Airs are also expected. For iPads, both the Air and the standard model will likely get new chips – the M4 for the Air and an unspecified upgrade for the iPad.
The iPhone 17e, positioned as an affordable option, appears similar to the iPhone 16e design, continuing Apple's pattern of reusing case designs for its budget line. It will run on the A19 chip.
Apple is also reportedly readying its first new external display since the 2022 Studio Display. Rumors point to at least one model featuring a high-resolution 7K screen.
Finally, Gurman mentions Apple's heavily delayed smart home product might finally arrive in the first half of 2026. This device depends heavily on Apple's AI features ("Apple Intelligence"), and its repeated postponement is linked to the ongoing development of that technology.
