Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone will use Samsung-made displays, according to industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Samsung will initially supply 7-8 million screens annually, with LG expected to join later as a second source.

Foxconn – Apple’s primary manufacturing partner – will start building the foldable devices as early as this fall. Production lines could activate in Q3 or Q4 2025. setting the stage for a potential 2026 launch.

The phone’s design features a 7.8-inch main folding screen and a 5.5-inch outer display. New materials aim to minimize the visible crease common in foldables.

This project aligns with Apple’s broader iPhone strategy. Sources suggest the foldable model may launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series in fall 2026. followed by standard iPhone 18 models in spring 2027 – creating a year-round upgrade cycle.

While Samsung handles the display, Kuo notes other key components remain unconfirmed. The move signals Apple’s entry into the competitive foldable market currently dominated by Samsung and Chinese brands.
