Google just launched Android 16 faster than ever—barely three weeks after announcing it at its I/O event. The update hits Pixel devices first, with other brands following later this year.

What’s new? Your phone’s look gets a fresh coat of paint with "Material 3 Experessive" design. But the real win: A feature called Live Details. No more constantly opening apps to check your food delivery, package, or ride—updates now stream right to your lock screen.
Tablet users gain big productivity boosts:
Computer-style split windows (first built with Samsung) let you multitask like on a laptop.
Later this year: Custom keyboard shortcuts and taskbar overflow—helping you find apps fast when the taskbar’s full.
Future updates may link tablets/phones to external monitors for a dual-screen setup.
Google’s teaming up with Samsung (Now Bar), OPPO (Live Alerts), and others to spread Live Details across Android.
