Fresh details have surfaced about Samsung’s upcoming triple-fold phone, with a model number SM-F9680 recently spotted in China’s 3C certification database. The device is listed as a “5G digital mobile phone,” confirming its existence ahead of a potential release.
According to the documents, the phone supports 25W wired fast charging but won’t include a charger in the box. Users will need to pair it with the EP-TA800 power adapter, a common 25W accessory for Samsung devices. While 25W is sufficient for mid-range phones, it lags behind flagship charging speeds.
The SM-F9680 is tailored for the Chinese market, with international variants likely to use a different model number. This hints at a planned launch in the region, possibly positioning it as the second triple-fold phone after Huawei’s Mate X3 Ultimate.
Design-wise, the phone features a dual-hinge mechanism, unfolding to a 9.96-inch main display and a 6.54-inch cover screen. Weighing around 298 grams, it’s expected to offer a novel form factor but may test the limits of portability.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 7 Ultra was previously rumored, but recent reports suggest the company will focus on the Z Fold 7. Z Flip 7. and a budget-friendly Z Flip 7 FE at its New York Unpacked event. The triple-fold phone’s debut remains unconfirmed, with speculation pointing to a delayed release later this year.
