Tech giant Oracle is shelling out roughly $40 billion to buy Nvidia’s cutting-edge GB200 chips, according to a Financial Times report. The massive purchase—around 400.000 chips—will power OpenAI’s upcoming Texas data center, part of the high-stakes “Stargate Project” to cement U.S. dominance in the global AI race.

The chips will be leased to OpenAI, which is building the facility in Abilene, Texas. The project aims to supercharge AI infrastructure as competition heats up worldwide.
When pressed for comment by Reuters, Nvidia stayed tight-lipped. OpenAI and Oracle also kept mum, leaving industry watchers buzzing about the scale and timeline of the deal.
