Apple is reportedly adding AI-powered battery management tools to iOS 19. aiming to extend iPhone battery life by learning user habits. The feature, set to debut at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), will analyze device usage patterns to limit energy-draining apps and optimize performance.

Sources close to the matter say the update will include a new lock screen indicator showing estimated time to full charge, giving users real-time insights into power consumption. While the tool is expected to work across all iOS 19-compatible devices, it may play a key role for the upcoming iPhone 17. rumored to be Apple’s thinnest model yet. The slimmer design could mean a smaller battery, making smarter power management critical.
The move aligns with Apple’s broader push to integrate AI into everyday features, dubbed “Apple Intelligence.” Though similar tools, like Google’s Adaptive Battery for Android, have existed since 2018. Apple’s version aims to offer a more advanced solution for balancing performance and efficiency.
The update is expected to roll out later this year alongside iOS 19. with iPhone 17 models likely launching in late 2025.
