Google is rolling out AI-powered anti-scam tools across its products—from Search to Chrome—to combat fraud, the company announced Tuesday. The system now stops over 100 million suspicious messages and links daily, a 20x improvement since 2022.

 Search & Messaging

In Google Search, upgraded algorithms instantly flag fake websites and phishing attempts, prioritizing trustworthy results. For texts and calls, the Messages and Phone apps scan content in real time, alerting users to potential scams like fake bank alerts or prize scams.

 Browser Defense

The Chrome browser uses different tactics across devices:

Desktop: Combines on-device AI (Gemini Nano) with cloud security to detect malicious sites faster.

Mobile: Blocks sketchy pop-ups and redirects before they trick users into clicking.

Google says local AI processing keeps data private while boosting speed. “It’s like having a security guard inside your phone,” a spokesperson noted.
