Samsung is rolling out its Tap-to-Transfer feature for Galaxy S25 users in the U.S, letting people send money instantly by tapping two compatible phones together. The NFC-powered tool, part of the updated Samsung Wallet app, also works with Visa and Mastercard contactless cards—no app login needed for cardholders.

Need to split a dinner bill? Search the recipient’s phone number in Samsung Wallet, link it to their Samsung account, and cash lands in minutes. The service, teased earlier this year, aims to simplify peer-to-peer payments without third-party apps.
Samsung didn’t stop there. A “buy now, pay later” option, currently in U.S. beta testing, lets users split purchases into installments directly through the wallet.
The move puts Samsung head-to-head with Apple, which offers Tap to Cash for iPhone-to-iPhone transfers via Apple Cash. Both services are U.S.-only for now.
