Google’s AI note-taking tool, NotebookLM, is getting its own app on May 20, available for both Android and iOS. The standalone app, announced ahead of Google I/O 2025, lets users upload web links, YouTube videos, or documents—then uses Gemini AI to summarize content, generate voice notes, and even chat with an AI "host" for deeper insights.
Key features:
Multilingual support: Works in 50+ languages, including Chinese, Spanish, and Arabic.
Voice summaries: Turn notes into audio for easy listening or podcast creation.
Interactive Q&A: Ask questions or debate topics with the AI, which can push back with follow-up queries.
The app mirrors the web version’s tools but adds mobility. Early access starts May 20; sign-ups are open now.
No subscription fees announced—yet. For students, researchers, or podcasters, it’s a free (for now) upgrade to messy note-taking.
