Whoop unveiled its latest wearables, the Whoop 5.0 and Whoop MG, blending fitness tech with medical tools like blood pressure monitoring and FDA-cleared ECG. Starting at $199/year, the trackers aim to move beyond athletes to everyday health buffs.

The Whoop 5.0, 7% smaller than its predecessor, boasts a 14-day battery and sleeker design. The pricier Whoop MG ($359/year) adds ECG for detecting irregular heartbeats and a blood pressure tool requiring just three arm-cuff calibrations. Both sync with a revamped app offering sleep scores, stress tracking, and Healthspan—a feature rating your "physiological age" based on nine biomarkers.
“Healthspan tells you if your habits are aging you faster,” said a Whoop rep, comparing it to rivals like Oura’s cardiovascular age metric. Subscriptions now split into tiers: One ($199) covers basics like sleep and recovery; Peak ($239) adds stress insights; Life ($359) unlocks all medical-grade perks.
New leather straps and "Body" clothing slots let users dress up the tracker for formal events. But old Whoop 4.0 bands won’t fit—upgraders need new gear.
The launch targets a crowded market. While Apple and Samsung pack screens and apps, Whoop bets on stealthy, sensor-heavy design. “It’s about health, not notifications,” said a beta tester.
Pre-orders start now, with Advanced Labs (blood-test scheduling via clinicians) rolling out later. For those eyeing a fitness band that moonlights as a medical device, Whoop’s betting $199 is worth the whoop.
