Apple users who owned iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, or other Siri-enabled devices between September 2014 and December 2024 could snag up to $20 per gadget under a $95 million privacy settlement. The catch? Claims must be filed by July 2—and time’s running out.

The deal resolves a class-action lawsuit alleging Siri accidentally recorded private conversations, from whispered secrets to sensitive chats, without user consent. Apple denies wrongdoing but agreed to pay out earlier this year. “We never used Siri data for ads or sold it,” the company stated, while still cutting checks to avoid a trial.
To claim, head to the settlement website, submit your device’s serial number or proof of purchase, and swear under penalty of perjury that Siri activated unexpectedly during a private moment. Payouts depend on how many people file: If claims flood in, you might get less than $20. But in similar cases, fewer claimants meant bigger checks.
Most of the $95 million fund will go to users, minus $6 million for admin costs and up to 30% for lawyers. For Apple, the payout is a tiny fraction of its $93.7 billion annual profit.
The lawsuit began in 2019 after a whistleblower revealed Apple contractors heard recordings of intimate moments via accidental Siri triggers. One plaintiff called it a “violation of the sanctity of homes.”
Don’t wait—grab your slice of the pie before the July 2 deadline. No personalized notice? No problem. File directly at [Lopez v. Apple settlement website].
