SharkNinja is recalling nearly 2 million Ninja Foodi OP300 multi-cookers in the U.S. and Canada after reports of severe burns linked to faulty lids. The defective pressure cookers, sold between January 2019 and March 2025 at Walmart, Costco, Target, and other major retailers, can eject hot contents during use, posing a burn hazard.

Over 100 injuries have been reported, including more than 50 cases of second- or third-degree burns to the face or body, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). No deaths have been tied to the issue, but SharkNinja faces 26 lawsuits over the incidents.
The recall covers 12 models (OP300, OP301, OP301A, OP302 variants, OP305, and OP350CO) and all OP300 replacement lids. Consumers should immediately stop using affected units and contact SharkNinja for a free lid replacement. The company advises using the cookers only without lids until replacements arrive.
SharkNinja is notifying customers via email, text, website alerts, and in-store posters. A dedicated hotline (open six days a week) and online support are available for assistance.
This recall follows other recent safety alerts, including General Motors’ SUV and truck recall over engine issues and Upper Crust Bakery’s bread recall due to glass fragments.
