Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to feature 12GB of RAM, a significant jump from the 8GB in current models, according to South Korean outlet ETNews. The upgrade aims to better handle multitasking and advanced AI features tied to Apple Intelligence.

Samsung is reportedly set to supply 70% of the memory chips, with SK Hynix and Micron covering the remaining 30%. This marks the first time an iPhone Pro model would pack 12GB RAM, potentially giving it an edge in performance for apps, gaming, and on-device AI tasks.
While base iPhone 17 models may stay at 8GB, the Pro lineup’s boost aligns with Apple’s push for more powerful mobile computing. Analysts suggest the extra RAM could improve capabilities like real-time language translation and enhanced photo editing.
No pricing details were leaked, but the move signals Apple’s growing reliance on Samsung for critical components. Production is expected to ramp up later this year ahead of a fall 2026 launch.
