AMD is rumored to be moving key chip orders—including EPYC server processors, Ryzen APUs, and Radeon GPUs—from Samsung to TSMC’s Arizona factory, citing concerns over Samsung’s 4nm manufacturing reliability, according to tech outlet Wccftech.

The shift highlights TSMC’s edge in delivering stable, high-yield production for advanced chips. AMD’s upcoming 2nm "Venice" processors, set to launch in 2026, will also be made exclusively by TSMC, reinforcing their partnership.
Meanwhile, Samsung isn’t backing down. The Korean giant claims its 2nm process has hit over 30% yield in early tests, beating internal targets. Sources tell The Bell that Samsung is finalizing deals to produce Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chips using this tech—a potential comeback bid.
While AMD eyes TSMC’s U.S. expansion to hedge geopolitical risks, analysts note TSMC still leads in performance and reliability. “Diversifying suppliers is smart, but TSMC’s track record is hard to ignore,” said 调研机构.
For now, the chip wars heat up—with TSMC scoring points, and Samsung racing to close the gap.
