The Pixel Buds 2a are Google’s lightest and most compact earbuds yet. They feature a new design with rotating stabilizers for a secure and comfortable fit. The charging case is also smaller than previous models and has user-replaceable batteries, though it no longer supports wireless charging—only USB-C.

These earbuds come with active noise cancellation, a first for Google’s A-series, using Silent Seal 1.5 technology. Google says the noise cancellation is 1.5 times stronger than the original Pixel Buds Pro.

Sound is delivered through custom 11mm dynamic drivers, and users can adjust the sound with a 5-band equalizer in the Pixel Buds app. The earbuds also support spatial audio for Pixel 6 and later phones, multipoint connectivity, Fast Pair, and hands-free Gemini access.

Battery life reaches up to 7 hours with ANC on, and 20 hours with the case. Wind-resistant mesh and AI algorithms are used to improve call clarity.

Google also announced a new Moonstone Gray color for the Pixel Buds Pro 2. along with a software update coming this fall. The update will add Adaptive Audio for smarter noise control in cities, Loud Noise Protection for sudden sounds, and head gestures for answering calls without touching the earbuds.
