Sony unveiled its debut wireless fighting controller, codenamed "Project Defiant," during today’s State of Play stream. Designed specifically for fighting games, it’ll work on both PS5 and PC when it launches in 2026.

The stick features Sony’s low-latency PlayStation Link tech for precise wireless play – though you can also plug in via USB-C. Key upgrades include:

• Swappable joystick gates (square/circle/octagon)

• Mechanical buttons like arcade cabinets

• The same touchpad as the DualSense controller

• An ergonomic shape built for long gaming sessions

It even wakes your PS5 wirelessly when you hold the home button. Sony’s including a sturdy carrying case with protective foam to keep the joystick safe during travel.
