Fujifilm just dropped a digital camera designed to make smartphone photographers slow down and savor the analog experience. Meet the X half: a pocket-sized retro-styled device that forces users to shoot first, peek later.

Unlike modern cameras, the X half mimics old-school film rituals. You must look through the viewfinder to frame shots, manually “wind” a lever after each click, and wait until finishing a roll (36. 54. or 72 shots) to unlock images via Fuji’s X half app. No instant previews—just pure anticipation.
Built for the Instagram era, its 1-inch sensor uses a “half-frame” design, splitting each shot into two vertical photos perfect for Reels or Stories. A “2-in-1 collage mode” stitches pairs into horizontal layouts. The 32mm F2.8 lens (similar to Fuji’s QuickSnap disposable cameras) keeps the weight at 240 grams—lighter than most water bottles.
Fuji packed the X half with 13 film simulations (including Reala ACE) and quirky filters like “light leaks” or “expired film” grit. Fans can print shots instantly using Fuji’s instax Link printers. Battery life? A solid 880 shots per charge.
No word yet on U.S. pricing or release dates, but Fuji confirmed global availability later this year. Want updates? Hit “subscribe” on their official social channels.
