Sony has unveiled its latest flagship noise-canceling Bluetooth headphones, the WH-1000XM6. reviving the foldable design last seen in earlier models. Set to hit global markets this month, the headphones feature improved Bluetooth connectivity, advanced noise cancellation, and a sleeker build. Three color options—black, platinum silver, and midnight blue—will be available, priced at $515.

The XM6 reintroduces a sturdier foldable hinge, redesigned for durability, and includes a compact carrying case for portability. Sony has also tweaked the power button, now larger and recessed for easier use. Twelve microphones enhance noise cancellation, while the upgraded QN3 audio processor claims seven times faster processing for clearer sound in busy environments. Battery life remains steady at 30 hours despite hardware improvements.

Sound quality gets a boost with 30mm carbon fiber drivers and collaborations with Grammy-winning audio engineers. New features include 360 Reality Audio, a "Game EQ" mode developed by Sony’s INZONE gaming team, and customizable 10-band EQ settings. A "360 Upmix" mode converts stereo tracks to spatial audio, and a dedicated movie-watching mode enhances cinematic sound.
